Supertech Forged Pistons & Rings - For MINI N14 Engines
Supertech pistons are forged from aluminium alloy for high performance and superior strength while maintaining a low weight. Using a 4032 alloy (an aluminium alloy containing Silicone, nickel, magnesium & copper) the piston achieves a high-temperature tolerance value meaning its deformation at high temperature is minimal.
The Supertech N14 piston is supplied in a variety of sizes to suit the needs of the engine i.e. if a bore is required due to scoring.
The pistons are also available in different compression ratios as follows:
10:1 for the N14 JCW engine
10.5:1 for the Cooper S engine
The 10:1 compression ratio can be installed into the Cooper S N14 also it is advisable to couple this ECU tune to ensure running and get the most out of the engine build. The piston is slightly shorter so there are no fouling issues when using the standard MINI camshaft. Other camshafts may require piston machining.
